Basic Info
Name:OU!Jack Sparrow
Bio

ALL A MATTER OF LEVERAGE

Character: ‘Captain’ Jack Sparrow
Series/Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean
Original or Template: Original

Age: Unknown, but appears to be late thirties or early forties.
Gender: male
Species: human
Sexuality: Presumably straight.

APPEARANCE
He has long, puffy black hair, with beads strung into it, and his favourite hat over a red bandanna. His beard is done in two braids. He wears a long grey and blue waistcoat over a white shirt and brown leather breeches. He wears a two thick belts and a red sash on his waist, which all his belongings can be found on (such as his gun, a bag with his compass, etc…). His boots are brown and come half-way up his calves. His most unique feature is the tattoo of a sparrow on his forearm. He walks unsteadily and slurs his speech, which seems to give him a slightly drunken demeanour, even when he is sober.

PERSONALITY
Jack Sparrow is a pirate who originally worked for the East India Trading Company. He is the captain of the Black Pearl and infamous with the women (receiving what he believes is more than his share of slaps). He can come off as being extremely incompetent and sometimes selfish, but Jack is actually a good man at heart…. If you dig VERY deep, that is. His first interest is treasure, closely followed by rum. He will scheme and plot to get what he wants, although he usually gives it up if he has to, and is loathe to be parted from his rum supply.

STRENGTHS/ABILITIES
Charm and good looks? No? Okay, how about a silver tongue, and a sharp sword?

Jack can talk his way out of many situations, simply by breaking someone’s brain with his confusing, run-on sentences. He is also excellent at sword fighting and is able to take charge of most situations, as well as bargaining his way out of tough spots (without the brain breaking).

WEAKNESSES
His greed for treasure and his general lack of loyalty to his friends can be considered his greatest weakness. He will do anything to save himself, and hopefully his treasure as well, even sell out his truest friends. He chooses to forget what they have done for him, deciding instead that they would dearly love to help him out again. He also has to rely more on speed and wit to get him out of tough situations, because he isn’t as physically strong.

HISTORY
Jack Sparrow grew up as the son of a merchant in the East India trading company. That being the case, it was surprising that he decided to become a pirate. Jack captained his ship, the Black Pearl for many years, searching for the lost treasure of Cortez, which contained Aztec gold. When he refused to give the location to his crew, they mutinied him on a ‘deserted’ island.

What they didn’t know was that Jack was wittier than he seemed. He bartered his way off the island with rum runners (people who had been selling rum from the not-so-deserted island). After escaping, he came to Port Royal and barely escaped being hung. He met a blacksmith named Will Turner (who happened to be the son of his old crewmate ‘Bootstrap Bill’) and agreed to help him save his friend Elizabeth Swan, if he in turn, helped Jack get his ship back.

They eventually found the cursed treasure and killed Barbossa (Jack’s former first mate), allowing Jack to become Captain of the Black Pearl once again. Will and Elizabeth went on to get married, and Jack vanished… or seemed to.

When Jack received the Black Spot from his dead companion ‘Bootstrap Bill’, he once again teamed up with Will. This time, to find Davy Jones’s heart. Both of them had different intentions. Jack wanted to take control of the seas, and Will wanted to destroy it. A third man, Norrington, wanted to sell it. A conflict ensued.

Norrington eventually got the heart, and Jack realized too late that it was missing. Davy Jones now had nothing to fear (since he wouldn‘t kill himself by having the Kraken accidentally eat his heart), and sent his Kraken after the Black Pearl. Elizabeth betrayed Jack to save the rest of the crew, knowing that the Kraken was only after him. She handcuffed Jack to his own ship, and Jack was swallowed by it…
